Handshake: The best platform for sharing employment opportunities with our students!

Handshake is an online platform for college students looking for an internship or job that opens the door to a fulfilling career. Students & Alumni can create a Handshake profile that highlights their interests, what they’re studying, and what they look for in a job.

Employers on Handshake are searching for students to hire and can invite students to events and encourage them to apply to new opportunities. Creating a Handshake account as an Employer is a simple way to communicate opportunities to students! To post jobs or events for students, employers must request and receive approval from the school, and then the recruiting door is wide open. If an employer has a job or internship opportunity to share with students, the most streamlined way to do so is by posting it to Handshake. On Handshake, employers also have the option to share opportunities with specific audiences, such as Nursing students or upper-division students.

Handshake is also a great way for students to connect with Career Services if they are seeking support in creating a resume, writing a cover letter, and other elements of the job search! Students can create appointments for career support directly in Handshake.

We are thankful for the partners thinking about our students, and this is one of the best ways for them to engage with us!

Upcoming Accreditation Visits

Dear Colleagues,

We are all praising God for our recent accreditation news!

As we celebrate, we are also preparing for the upcoming NWCCU Mid-Cycle Accreditation Visit. This visit is a standard part of our accreditation process. We look forward to hosting our visitors on campus to share our unique and beautiful mission with them.

I am working with Dr. Chitiga to handle the logistics of these visits. In preparation, we wanted to provide our campus community with some key dates:

  • Tuesday, March 21: Mock Review for Training and Preparation
  • Thursday-Friday, April 27-28: NWCCU Mid-Cycle Accreditation Visit

We want everyone to be aware of these dates so that we can prepare to provide a warm WPU welcome to our guests. We will be following up personally with any individuals who will be involved in specific meetings with the visiting review teams.

Thank you in advance for your support of these events.

Blessings,

Marlo
